The 8th National Conference on Biophysical Chemistry, co-hosted by the Biophysical Chemistry Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society and Liaoning Normal University, was held at The Castle Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Dalian, from October 11th to 15th, 2024. With the theme 'Scientific and Technological Innovation Helps Life and Health,' the conference focused on several specific research topics: 1) Physicochemical mechanisms of life phenomena; 2) Applications of physicochemistry in life sciences; 3) New technologies and methods in biophysical chemistry; and 4) Theoretical calculations in biophysical chemistry. This event highlighted recent achievements and developments in biophysical chemistry and related fields in China, facilitating the exchange of the latest research results. It also provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the opportunities and challenges facing the field in the current context, as well as key development directions to further advance biophysical chemistry and its related disciplines in China. Researcher Prof. Guangyan Qing from our group participated in the conference, where he presented an invited report titled "Separation and Analysis of Glycans" during the session on physicochemical mechanisms of life phenomena and engaged in extensive discussions with peers in chemical biology.
