Wang Dongdong participated in Discovery Studio training and learning

  On October 23-25, 2019, a team member Wang Dongdong went to Suzhou to participate in the Discovery Studio Center Course on "Application of Molecular Simulation in Food Science" organized by Chuang Teng Technology Co., Ltd. This course mainly introduces seven molecular simulation technologies, such as molecular docking, pharmacophore model construction, protein sequence analysis, protein homology modeling, protein stability prediction, and amino acid mutation in Discovery Studio software, and their basic research and drug research. The application of the technology has greatly improved the communication and learning of biological macromolecular structure and function analysis technology.

  In this course, a professional teacher who graduated from China Pharmaceutical University taught us the basic theoretical knowledge of molecular simulation, demonstrates the operation and guides the operation on the computer. The teacher has been engaged in computational simulation work for many years, sharing various simulation methods based on practical problems. In the class, the operations of Discovery Studio software are introduced in detail. The seven technologies are decomposed and carefully taught one by one. Significance, reference value and applicable system. The content of the course is rich and compact, and it is practical. It can not only connect with specific experiments, provide theoretical calculation support, but also use computers to predict the properties of proteins. After class, the students and the teacher discussed the various problems that occurred in their respective simulations and the difficulties encountered in their own systems, and it was quite fruitful.

  Through this training, students have a comprehensive understanding of Discovery Studio software and a deeper understanding of molecular simulation technology, making up for the lack of molecular simulation theory knowledge, and laying a solid foundation for combining theoretical calculation with experiments in the future. Even more, I have made many teachers who use calculations, and I will communicate more in the future, which will benefit a lot. I am very grateful to the creative technology teachers for organizing this course and their hard work.
